Elise Houren is a Senior Account Executive for Singer Associates.

Ms. Houren is an experienced business and political communicator and lobbyist with deep experience in public policy, technology, energy, transportation, tax and land use issues.

Ms. Houren previously served as Director of Government Relations for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, where she represented more than 1,000 member companies and the interests of the business community.

She was a registered lobbyist, routinely testified before government bodies and agencies, and managed and led local advocacy and communications campaigns. She has worked with all types and sizes of industry and a variety of industry specific trade groups and associations. Ms. Houren is well-versed on a broad range of policy issues including labor and employment law, tax, technology, energy, transportation, land use, and healthcare. She served on task forces of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and served as a panelist at the Illinois Technology Association’s Chicago Tech Summit.

Ms. Houren also spent time in Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s press and communications office. Additionally, she consulted for the City of Gary, Indiana on urban revitalization issues as part of former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley’s fellowship program at the University of Chicago.

She earned her Master of Public Policy from the Harris School at the University of Chicago and is highly trained in quantitative and qualitative research methods. Ms. Houren graduated with her B.A. in Political Science from Southern Methodist University. She was nominated and serves as a mentor at 1871, a Chicago based technology and entrepreneurship innovation hub.

Ms. Houren is an avid reader, political junkie, and she loves traveling to learn about and experience new cultures.
