Singer Associates is the official public relations representative for the 99th Annual ING Bay to Breakers, the most unique 12K footrace in the world. Singer is charged with coordinating media relations and community outreach initiatives for the event that unites best-in-class athletes, spirited participants and jubilant spectators for a fun public celebration.

New Transbay Transit Center Project Website Unveiled
Singer Associates managed the development, design and launch of a new interactive website (www.transbaycenter.org) for the $4 billion transit project. The site features an interactive tour of different elements of the project, animated designs and special videos of the “Grand Central of the West.”

San Francisco Education Fund’s 2nd Annual Tipping for Teachers Celebrity Waiter Dinner
Singer Associates donated their time to manage media relations for the San Francisco Education Fund’s 2nd annual Tipping for Teachers Celebrity Waiter Dinner event at the Westin St. Francis Hotel. The exclusive fundraising event featured a select group of San Francisco’s CEOs, philanthropists and personalities including Head Celebrity Waiter, Warren Hellman; Nick Smith from ABC 7 as Master of Ceremonies; Larry Baer, COO & President of the San Francisco Giants; Carlos Garcia, Superintendent of the San Francisco Unified School District; Mark Laret, CEO of UCSF Medical Center; and Biz Stone, Co-Founder of Twitter, who volunteered as celebrity waiters to serve a gourmet dinner to their friends and work associates while vying to collect the most “tips” to benefit San Francisco public schools.

Recology Unveils New Scientific Data Confirming Benefits of Composting
Singer Associates hosted and successfully managed media relations for a press conference held at the San Francisco Ferry Plaza Farmers Market to promote new scientific data highlighting the benefits of composting. Local farmers called on city residents and businesses to increase their participation in the urban compost program by placing all food scraps from holiday meals in green carts for curbside collection. Mike Sangiacomo, President & CEO of Recology, and Jared Blumenfeld, Director of the San Francisco Department of Environment, presented the new data as well as discussed the importance of composting year round in order to reach San Francisco’s goal of zero waste.
Calpine’s 38th Energy Center in Otay Mesa
Singer Associates managed media relations for Calpine Corporation’s dedication ceremony to commemorate the successful start up of their newly constructed Otay Mesa Energy Center near San Diego, Calif. The ceremony featured California State Senator Christine Kehoe and San Diego County Supervisor Greg Cox. The center is the largest air-cooled facility of its kind in California and is a great example of how modern technology can be used to produce environmentally responsible, cost-effective, reliable energy solution for the state.

Packard Children’s and Stanford Hospital Implement New Visiting Policy to Limit Presence, Spread of H1N1 Flu to Patients
Singer Associates worked with the hospitals to implement a new hospital visitation policy to limit the presence and spread of the H1N1 flu to its patients. Singer Associates was tasked with developing messaging, signage, outreach materials and internal and external communications to notify patients and their families, employees, and the community about the new mandatory policy.

555 Washington Project
Singer Associates manages media relations for the proposed 555 Washington project –designed to be a companion to the Transamerica Pyramid. To garner public understanding and support for the project, the agency also designed and developed a website highlighting the project’s environmental design and sustainable elements as well as coordinated a press conference for the project sponsor, AEGON, announcing the LEED certification of 555 Washington’s proposed neighbor - the Transamerica Pyramid.

Preventing a BART Strike
When a BART strike threatened to cripple the Bay Area in the summer of 2009, Singer Associates was hired to lead the public relations effort for BART management. BART had to close a $310 million, four-year budget deficit amid declines in ridership, state transit funding and sales tax revenue. Labor negotiations ran on for months. In the end, Singer Associates helped avoid a strike and achieve millions of dollars in savings for BART by building support around the Bay Area for the management’s position.

Preventing a BART Strike
