Thirteen cities sue Contra Costa County over Chevron tax appeal repayment

CONCORD – 13 cities and a half-dozen special districts have sued Contra Costa County, saying it is improperly making them repay taxes they never received to refund Chevron for overassessing its refinery, according to a story today, June 30, in the Contra Costa Times.
The cities contend that only governments that did get the money – mostly Richmond – should have to foot the bill.
